My Story

Hi, I’m Holly.

I’m an artist, maker, full-time working mom, and the person behind Hamlin Creative Studio.

I’ve always needed to make things—although I’ve never been especially good at choosing just one kind of thing. I paint, experiment, rearrange, design, collect materials, start side projects, and regularly convince myself I can learn an entirely new skill.

My artwork is primarily mixed media because it gives me the freedom to follow an idea wherever it goes. I’m drawn to layers, texture, unexpected color combinations, and the small details most people walk right past. I rarely begin with every step planned. I start with something that interests me and keep working until the piece finally feels like itself.

Over time, Hamlin Creative Studio has grown to include more than artwork. It’s also become a home for the other things I create and genuinely want to use or have around me—jewelry, paper goods, painted objects, seasonal pieces, and whatever idea I decide absolutely needs to exist next.

The common thread isn’t one particular product. It’s creating things that feel personal, useful, interesting, and a little less mass-produced.

Most of this happens somewhere between my full-time job, raising two kids, playing tennis, doing laundry, and thinking about at least seven other projects. It isn’t a perfectly polished creative process. It’s a real studio built around a very real life—and I think the things made here are better because of it.

Thank you for being here, supporting independent art, and enabling a woman who has apparently never met a creative hobby she couldn’t turn into another project.
